Karrie Baloga, a senior at Cornwall Central High in New York, placed second in the 5-kilometer girls championship race at the CHAMPS Sports Northeast Regional at Van Cortlandt Park in New York. Baloga, who finished third at the 2019 regionals and fifth last year, clocked 17:24.9 to advance to her third career national final Dec. 10 at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego. Baloga was 11th at the Foot Locker Championships in 2019 and placed fourth last season at the Eastbay Championships and will now compete in the CHAMPS Sports Cross Country Championships.
